| I've never heard of Jews being scared of pork. Jews aren't supposed to EAT pork, but the idea of wearing three layers of gloves is as ludicrous to me as it is ridiculous to you. Muslims on the other hand, from what I've heard, specifically, almost pathologically, avoid all contact with animals that the quran calls 'unclean', specifically, pigs, dogs and monkeys. (This is also where the Muslim denigration of non-Muslims as 'sons of dogs, pigs and monkeys' presumably comes from.) The upside of this, as the stories I've heard from a friend who grew up in Singapore, surrounded as a skinny little Buddhist kid, by Muslim and Hindu bullies, is that the Muslim bullies would run in terror if he would come at them carrying pork (and the Hindus would supposedly similarly recoil from beef). I have also heard that Muslims, especially Arab Muslims in the Middle East, are terrified of dogs. |
