If that were the case, then the population of gays should have skyrocketed after the pill was introduced given the number of women who used the pill. Also, it wouldn't explain why there were gays before the pill was introduced or explain why there are gays like me who are children of good Catholic parents who didn't use birth control pills. ;-)

| some believe hormones cause sexual orientation. but there is no substancial proff.this theory has been proven with fruit flies and rats. I don't see how we can ethically experiment this with humans |

| No. Not sure what else to say... What, did your preacher use that line to justify his neanderthal stance on birth control or something? |

I read about a study that said hormones produced during pregnancy could cause homosexuality if there is too much or too little. the study was on humans but the experimenting was on rats. The pregnant rats were put in bad conditions to depress them, thus altering the hormoan production. The babies that were born came in 3 sexual orientations-
1- Straight
2- Bisexual (males were tops or studs with females but bottoms or duds with other males)
3- Asexual (no attraction to either gender period)
the study also concluded that more gay people are born after war time ( which is the happiest time in the world, ain't it?). This supposts that the stress on the mother, which does effect production and function of the body and its parts (including hormones), could also effect the hormones the fetus has thus determining sexual orientation.
this is still just an unproven study. |
