When a straight woman is in the presence of an attractive man, she might reach up & back to slightly thrust her chest forward so it is more noticeable.

I know I do it to get the hair out of my face, but I know some people have made it into a nervous habit. I would guess though most of the time it is like everyone else has said, to get it out of the face.

Because they can. Seriously, straight hair will fly away if you don't keep it clipped. Some girls don't use clips. Why? I don't know, I'm a guy.

well, yeah...we DO use our hands to push our hair behind our ears. What else would we use, our feet? And personally, I do it because my hair is so fine that it swings into my face and gets in my eyes. Unless I shellac it with hairspray until it's hard and stiff, which feels nasty and looks even worse.

Perhaps to keep their hair out of their face? Black woman may not do this because many time their hairstyle itself keeps it out of their face. I can't see where this is unique to white women though.
